Lauren H

Full-Time General Manager, Coach & Nutrition Specialist

“I think we all have an “optimal self” (best version of ourselves), and I feel the most fulfilled helping someone achieve that optimization. Being a coach allows me to come into work every day and build athletes into the best versions of themselves. This goes far beyond the competition floor. That is a gift to me. The best gift one can be granted. I am a coach because I want to touch lives and help athletes realize and obtain their true potential in sport and life.” – Coach Lauren

Lauren is a lifelong athlete, having competed at an elite level in basketball as a Division III athlete, and NAIA Division II Pole Vaulter. Her most notable accomplishment as a CrossFit athlete is taking first place in a 4-person competition at the 2015 Arnold Affiliate Gathering held in Columbus, Ohio. As a Strong(wo)man competitor she qualified for 2016 Nationals, but did not compete due to her main focus, which is Olympic Lifting. Lauren is a Nationally qualified Olympic Lifter and has high expectations for herself in the coming years. Having such a diverse background in athletics, Lauren always knew her professional pursuits would be in health and fitness. As of late, she interned as a strength and conditioning coach with the University of Kentucky. She assisted in coaching women’s basketball, men and women’s dive, and women’s gymnastics. For the past 4 years Lauren has mainly been a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. However, she has also spent much of her time coaching athletes through nutritional goals, as she is a Precision Nutrition Level 1 coach. Whether you need CrossFit coaching, Strongman ideas, personal training, Olympic Lifting tips, or nutritional advice, Lauren would love to help guide you!

Five years ago this August, CrossFit, which brought her to Olympic Weightlifting, changed her life. When she got the opportunity to become a CrossFit coach, she ran with it and began to (and continues to) learn everything about optimizing health and finding the best quality of life possible through functional fitness. And in this, she loves to empower others by imparting what she’s learned and helping them on their journey to becoming their best selves. Lauren has a passion for people, and this passion brings electrifying energy to our gym.
